Our Ecogreen Cocopalm wood comes from plantation grown coconut palms, which grow in abundance throughout Asia. The Coconut Palm (Cocos nucifera) is a member of the Family Arecaceae palm family (palm family). It is the only species in the genus Cocos, and is a large palm, which can grow up to 30 meters tall. Coconut palms produce nuts for durations of 50 to 80 years, and after that, they become non-producing palms. At that point the palms must be removed from the plantation and replanting occurs.
